We believe that learning never stops. We work in partnership with charities and care providers to engage older adults with our outstanding collections, and support their continuing discovery and enjoyment of art.
Our programmes for older adults encourage creativity, social interaction and personal well-being. We currently prioritise groups that support older adults at risk of isolation, people living with dementia, and people experiencing mental health conditions.
Out of the Frame
Our Out of the Frame programme engages older adults living in care. Lively sessions are delivered in care homes across London, using reproductions and handling objects to stimulate interaction and discussion. Our skilled facilitators take a person-centred approach, working with residents one-to-one or in small groups.
Live sessions are currently digital. Our growing range of printed activity sheets and discussion-based resources can be sent to your care home.

Creativity and Wellbeing
Practicing mindfulness with art can bring a greater appreciation of the artwork and the visual world around us, and an increased sense of wellbeing. When we pay close attention to a painting, we come into a deeper relationship with art and with ourselves. The quiet, contemplative interiors of Dutch painting can inspire this quality and invite our senses to become more alive and present. Developed in partnership with art and mindfulness experts Limina Collective, this short film encourages mindful looking at a small selection of Dutch paintings.
