Home Education Workshops

Book a place on our free special workshop days for home-educated students.

Students must be accompanied by a parent/carer. Workshops are tailored to specific Key Stages and only children of the specified age will be permitted; you can explore our galleries with accompanying children of other ages while workshops are in session. Spaced for packed lunch is provided after each morning workshop.

Landscapes and Seascapes

For KS1-2, or students aged 6-11

Explore the outdoors through landscapes and seascapes at the Wallace Collection. Students will learn the principles of composition including perspective, and will develop new vocabulary to understand and discuss landscape painting as a genre. Inspired by the paintings of Rubens, Canaletto and more, they will create their own fabulous drawings.

Fresh Eyes: Inspiration for Creative Writing

For KS3-4, or students aged 11-16

Date: Wednesday 7 December 2022
Time: 10.30–13.30
Location: At the museum

Looking closely at a range of artworks from the Collection, students will discover the myths and mysteries in the objects and develop their personal writing skills through a range of challenges and exercises. The session will start with an exploration of the galleries, followed by a facilitated writing workshop in our Learning Studio.
