Join Guide Lecturer Nadine Kirby to explore the impact of the Spanish Baroque on Impressionism. In 1865 Manet wrote to Baudelaire that 'Velazquez is the greatest painter that ever was'. Discover how Spanish artists like Velazquez and Murillo, both well-represented in the Wallace Collection, were revered by French artists during the 19th century, and came to inspire the Impressionists.
