Dementia-Friendly Workshop: Gauntlets Galore!
| Date | Friday 28 August 2026 |
| Time | 14.00 - 16.00 BST |
| Location | At the museum (Learning Studio) |
An afternoon with artist Caroline Dorset, for people living with dementia and their carers or companions.
A gauntlet is an armoured glove and the Wallace Collection holds some of the finest in the world. We begin in the armouries with a close look at them, with pieces to handle so you can feel the weight and see how the joints move, and we explore together how armour appears in the paintings around us.
Back in the Learning Studio, over tea and coffee, you will draw a gauntlet or emboss a decorative detail of your own into metal foil.
The session is relaxed and unhurried. No previous experience is needed and all materials are supplied.
Free. Booking essential. Click here to book.
