Discover characters and stories from classical myths through a museum visit or an outreach session delivered in your school.

Myths and Legends can be adapted for pre-formal, informal, semi-formal and formal curriculum pathways, and is designed to develop understanding and cultural capital..

This session can support the National Curriculum for Art and Design, English, Arts Award: Discover and Explore, and the Engagement Model. Sessions are led by SEND specialists, with Makaton support and Widgit symbols where helpful.

We will work with you to tailor the session, which is supported by handling materials and sensory resources.

Sensory story: The Rising and Setting of the Sun

Explore the textures, sounds and smells of the ancient god Apollo’s journey throughout the day from the sea into the sky, inspired by François Boucher's grand paintings The Rising and Setting of the Sun.

• Encounter Apollo and rosy-fingered Dawn through object exploration.
• Experience changing light levels to represent morning and night.
• Relax with soft textures and sounds as the ‘day’ ends.
