For the second of our series of talks celebrating the partnership between Manolo Blahník and the Wallace Collection we are delighted to host the eminent scholar and classicist Mary Beard and Manolo Blahník for a discussion with the Director of the Wallace Collection, Dr Xavier Bray. The evening will be moderated by Senior Curator Dr Helen Jacobsen and will take place in the Wallace Collection’s magnificent Great Gallery.
The artistic legacy of the Greek and Roman civilisations is at the core of Western art and design. Artists, craftsmen, architects and fashion designers have used Antique sources for centuries and still continue to do so, bringing their own interpretation to the classical language. In the opulent Great Gallery of the Wallace Collection, we will explore the Classical World and its influence as seen from three vantage points: that of the classical scholar, the designer and the art historian.
Your ticket includes an exclusive after hours view of the exhibition An Enquiring Mind: Manolo Blahnik at the Wallace Collection and a glass of wine. The exhibition and drinks will be available from 5.30pm to 7pm only. The panel discussion will begin at 7pm sharp in the Great Gallery.
