In the eighteenth and nineteenth centuries copying of furniture after earlier models was widely acceptable to collectors, and pieces were sought after and commissioned from the greatest of cabinet-makers. In this lecture, Helen Jacobsen, Curator of French 18th-century Decorative Arts, will discuss some important examples made for the 4th Marquess of Hertford. This Special Lecture will take place in the Lecture Theatre and seating is unreserved. Free, no need to book. Places will be allocated on a first come, first served basis.
