Since February 2011, a remarkable group of volunteer Refugee Tour Guides from a range of African countries have embarked on an ambitious venture with the Wallace Collection, to learn about the museum’s intriguing history and collections. Supported by the National Lottery through the Heritage Lottery Fund, the group have completed a unique training programme to learn how to create and deliver guided tours and to master the art of public speaking in both intimate and large gallery spaces. Participants have selected and researched their favourite works of art and will now share their knowledge with the public in a series of fascinating free tours that will be delivered every Thursday and Saturday throughout December and January.
