The combination of fine mahogany veneers and jewellery-like mounts makes this chest-of-drawers a magnificent spectacle. However, the piece was originally decorated using marquetry, which was at some point replaced. It is very similar to two others used by Marie-Antoinette at the Château de Marly.

The Riesener Project has been working to research and document the furniture of Jean-Henri Riesener (1734-1806). Explore this object, and the way in which it is constructed, using our 3D model.
