Message from the Director
Like most art institutions across the country, the Wallace Collection is affected by substantial budget cuts. As a consequence, we are no longer able to guarantee that all our galleries are open at all times. Gallery closures will remain an exception, and we are trying to keep them to a minimum. If you have a specific interest in an art work displayed in a gallery that is momentarily closed, you are invited to contact our Front Desk. We will always try to provide access.
Thank you for your understanding.
The Great Gallery will be re-opening on 19 September after its refurbishment! Due to the need to re-hang the Gallery we have unfortunately needed to remove objects from display until the re-opening. Several of our greatest paintings will continue to be displayed in ‘Masterpieces from the Great Gallery’, which will be in the Exhibition Gallery until August 26. After this The Laughing Cavalier will return to the Large Drawing Room from 29 August until 8 September.
If you have any questions about the location of a specific object then please contact the Curatorial Department at firstname.lastname@example.org or +44 (0)207 563 9515 (Monday - Friday).
