Xanto Scoops the Prize!
At a ceremony in November 2007, the catalogue for our recent exhibition Xanto: Pottery-Painter, Poet, Man of the Italian Renaissance, beat 180 other entries to win the prestigious Axa/Art Newspaper Exhibition Catalogue of the Year Award. The judges praised the exhibition, curated by John Mallet, for its ‘sheer intellectual ambition’ and for its success in bringing a hitherto little-known Renaissance artist vividly to life.
