William Callow
Born on 28 July 1812 in Greenwich. He was articled to Theodore Henry Fielding in London in 1823 and in 1829 went with him to Paris where he stayed almost continuously until 1841. Louis-Philippe's children were his pupils 1834-41. He returned to London in 1841; in 1855 he settled in Great Missenden where he died on 20 February 1908.
A prolific painter, he exhibited at the Old Water-Colour Society, London from 1838, British Institute 1848-67 and Royal Academy 1850-76.
