Following the recent popular exhibition Houghton Revisited: The Walpole Masterpieces from Catherine the Great's Hermitage Lynda McLeod, Librarian at Christie's, will examine the making of this fine collection by Sir Robert Walpole (1676-1745) and why, after his death, a young, relatively new auctioneer to the London scene was asked to value the finest collection that was known to British collectors.
