Daniel Hopfer was one of the great German Renaissance masters of the art of etching- selectively ‘biting' designs and motifs into steel using acid. This cuirass was once thought to have been etched by Hopfer himself, however it is more likely to be the work of one of the many artists he inspired. Such works are very important since they can help us improve our understanding of this master's personal style, through comparison with the work of others. Please note that a maximum of 25 people can attend talks. Places are allocated on a first come first served basis. Free, no need to book.

Talks: Tobias Capwell, 2 and 26 September at 1pm
