What is History?

Wednesday 10 July, 10am - 4pm

This Masterclass in conjunction with the borough of Camden will be a challenging, hands-on day to explore this key A2 History topic.

 You will meet two of the top academics in the field: Dr Peter Claus, Senior Research Fellow in History and Access Fellow (Pembroke College, Oxford) and Prof. Alun Munslow as well as actors, teachers and museum guides, all offering ways of interpreting artefacts and other clues to the past…

If you are capable of A*/A or B grades at A2 and/or aspiring to History or related subjects at university, then this event is for you…


The Science of Conservation

Science Masterclass for A level Physics and Chemistry Students

Thursday 11 July 2013. 10.05-15.40

Meet conservators and discover cutting-edge conservation techniques

such as:

  • Metal identification tests including wet chemical spot testing, magnets and hardness testing
  • Demonstration of x-ray florescence analysis
  • Using a metallurgical microscope
  • UV light experiments
  • Talk on neutron defraction analysis

Particularly suitable for students considering studying science subjects at university
