This lecture by Ulrich Leben draws on the main themes of the exhibition at the Gallery of the Bard Graduate Center in New York, 'Salvaging the Past: Georges Hoentschel and French Decorative Arts from The Metropolitan Museum of Art', which runs from 4 April-11 August 2013. Georges Hoentschel was a collector and director of the Parisian decorating firm Maison Leys during the late nineteenth and early twentieth centuries, creating interiors in historic French styles for affluent clients. This Special Lecture will take place in the Lecture Theatre. Free, no need to book.
