This three-day course in botanical painting will take inspiration from the sumptuous fruit and vegetables displayed in the 17th-century Dutch still life paintings in the Wallace Collection. Frequently, the artists of these beautiful oil paintings made preliminary studies in watercolour to capture the subject in its prime. Whilst botanical painting is a separate discipline, its primary function is to inform science and agriculture through accurate identification, the results can still be beautiful. Join botanical artist Mariella Baldwin to learn a bit about what it takes to create a watercolour painting of summer fruits and vegetables that can almost be plucked from the page!

Students must be able to attend all three days of the course.

Booking essential on 020 7563 9527 or booking@wallacecollection.org.
