In October we invited 14 young people aged between 14 and 19 years to come in and work with Chocolate Films, Wallace Collection educators and curators and the Geffrye Museum to create four short films about Joshua Reynolds in response to our upcoming exhibition Joshua Reynolds: Experiments in Paint opening in March 2015.
The project was a unique opportunity for young people to gain real digital skills as well as learning invaluable skills in team working, public speaking and confidence building.
Film One: Joshua Reynolds and Fashion
Fashion changes constantly, but what would the glitterati have been wearing in Reynolds’s time?
Film Two: Joshua Reynolds: Painted Women
They gaze serenely down on you but who were Reynolds’s painted women?
Film Three: Reynolds and the Old Masters
Reynolds: genius or vandal?
Film Four: Joshua Reynolds: Evolution of a Picture – Looking at X-rays
Joshua Reynolds meets 21st-century science…
