On the 2nd December 2011, 60 children and adults from Newham Family Learning Services, West Hampstead Elderly Asian Women’s Group and Aaina Women’s Group visited the Wallace Collection for the first time.
During this day project participants had the opportunity to meet and to learn about each other, tour the Wallace Collection with Alex Hirtzel (freelance artist), see the Conservation Gallery where their exhibition will be in January and February 2013, view the Museum’s Dutch masterpieces in their magnificent surroundings with Lucy Davis (Curator of Dutch and Flemish Paintings) and draw in the Oriental Armouries with Amber Khokhar (freelance artist) and Sobia Khan (Arts Educator).
Project participants really enjoyed the day and expressed how excited they were to continue with the practical workshops in the New Year.
Chocolate films also joined participants to film and document their visit and to interview project participants.Here is a film they made about the day;
